Coached Classes vs Open Gym: Choosing the Right Session
By Team RepScheme · Updated
Our timetable has two kinds of sessions. They serve different purposes, and knowing the difference helps you get more from your week.
Coached classes
A scheduled class is a one-hour session led by a coach: warm-up, strength or skill work, the workout and a cool-down. The coach teaches movements, scales the workout and keeps an eye on technique.
Coached classes are where beginners should start, and where your free trial takes place.
Open Gym
Open Gym is independent training time — Thursday 5:30–6:30 PM and Sunday 8:30–10:30 AM. It is not a coached class with a fixed start time.
Members use it for accessory work, skill practice, a missed workout or their own program. On Sundays, MetCon programming is available to complete during the window.
Which should you choose?
New to training? Stick with coached classes. Already comfortable with the movements? Open Gym is a useful extra session on top of your classes.
Ready to try it?
Your first class is free. No booking needed. Just turn up 20 minutes before any scheduled class starts, meet the coach and enjoy your free session.
